You cannot believe your ears, every child knows the "world's most powerful women" (forbes magazine 08.27.08): "The first female chancellor in Germany's history, and the first woman to lead Germany...With $3.3 trillion in GDP, Germany is Europe's biggest economy, Merkel advocates a strong German-American relationship, hosted the Dalai Lama, chastised Mugabe." Like Miss Palin McCain does not seem to read the news! And how could he mix up russia and germany - do we have to worry about a dement canidate? It could go like this: "Sir, where do you want the nukes to go?" McCain: "Ah - oh, make it spain and germany, they're in the axis of evil, right?" check out www.mccain.com - it's "creating smiles around the world"

Faust is a trustee of Bryn Mawr College, the Andrew Mellon Foundation, and the National Humanities Center, and she serves on the educational advisory board of the Guggenheim Foundation. She has served as president of the Southern Historical Association, vice president of the American Historical Association, and executive board member of the Organization of American Historians and the Society of American Historians. Faust has also served on numerous editorial boards and selection committees, including the Pulitzer Prize history jury in 1986, 1990, and 2004. In 2008, Faust was ranked 76 on the 2008 list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women by Forbes Magazine.
