Biography
After graduating from Phillips Exeter with high honors (1987), he earned an A.B. summa cum laude in economics from Princeton University in 1991, and an M.Sc. (1992) and a Ph.D. (1997) in economics from the London School of Economics. He was a Marshall Scholar 1991-1992. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.[1]
Economists Alan Blinder (who taught him at Princeton) and Joseph Stiglitz were his mentors early in life, and later Robert Rubin.[2]
Orszag is divorced and lives in Washington, D.C. with his two children, Leila and Joshua. He runs in marathons and enjoys country music. He is a Red Sox fan.[3][2]
Career
Orszag was a senior fellow and Deputy Director of Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution, where he directed The Hamilton Project and (in conjunction with Georgetown University's Public Policy Institute) the Pew Charitable Trust's Retirement Security Project.
He served as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy (1997–1998), and as Senior Economist and Senior Adviser on the Council of Economic Advisers (1995–1996) during the Clinton administration. He also formed a consulting group called Sebago Associates, which merged into Competition Policy Associates and was bought by FTI Consulting Inc. He was a consultant for McKinsey and Company on an HMO project in San Francisco, California.
Orszag was director of the Congressional Budget Office from January 2007 to November 2008. During his tenure, he repeatedly drew attention to the role rising health care expenditures are likely to play in the government's long-term fiscal problems--and, by extension, the nation's long-term economic problems. He also gained notoriety as the first CBO director to have his own blog.
On November 25th, 2008, President-elect Barack Obama announced that Orszag would be his nominee for director of the Office of Management and Budget, the arm of the White House responsible for crafting the federal budget and overseeing the effectiveness of federal programs.[4][5]

A Paean to Barack Obama. The Twelve Days of Choosing Obama's Top Team
An enhanced version of my previous post. To be sung to the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas, whose lyrics are modified to apply to Obama's picks for his Cabinet and other key posts. The list is intended to be cumulative (that is, each person is picked only once). At the end I present those left out due to time constraints (Only twelve days!)

[You] "Praise" Barack Obama's Cabinet Picks, Rush Limbaugh?
Breaking news: Bill Richardson, the governor of New Mexico has withdrawn his nomination for Secretary of Commerce. The governor is under investigation for the same scandal that's landing Rod Blagojevich in trouble. Ah, don't you love the politicians of both the Democratic and Republican Parties. A video will be made shortly. ______________________________ After being nominated by Barbara Walters for her Most Fascinating People, Rush Limbaugh praised [but stopped short] of supporting President Barack Obama's picks for his administration. Hillary Clinton has accepted to be his Secretary of State. Clinton will resign from the senate upon approval from fellow colleagues. Robert Gates has accepted the role of Secretary of Defense. Gates will continue to be the leader of the national military. Although still an appointed Bush official, senate must confirm him again. James Jones a retired Marine commander has accepted the post of National Security Advisor. Susan Rice has accepted the pick of being Ambassador to the United Nations. Eric Holder has accepted the pick of being the Attorney General of the United States. Janet Napolitano has accpeted the pick of being the Secretary of Homeland Security. Napolitano will resign from her governorship in Arizona. Timothy Geithner has accepted the position of being Secretary of Treasury. Rahm Emanuel has accepted the position of being Barack Obama's chief of staff. Emanuel will resign from his Congressional district upon approval of senate. Peter R. Orszag will be the director of the Office Management and Budget. Newswires report Bill Richardson, governor of New Mexico will be next up and former Senator and Majority Leader Tom Daschle will hold positions as Secretaries of Commerce and Health and Human Services. Barack Obama will be holding a press conference shortly. *Note: I will direct criticism to Barack Obama. The Daily Mail UK reports that Barack Obama will spend $30,000 for a diamond bracelet for his wife Michelle Obama, the First Lady of The United States. Although, it's his personal choice, I probably will only dismiss this story as "phony outrage". For the very same fact that the New York Post lied about Mrs. Obama having a luxury dinner at a Waldoff-Astoria Hotel, the issue with this story gives "red meat" to critics who believe Barack Obama is an "elitist". We should first deal with sacrifices! And I wish Barack Obama would never tell anyone in the press about what he does for his wife. The DUMB Right loves to "blow up" stories over nothing! Thanks for viewing. Thank all the supporters of my videos. To all critics and those who blindly trust the media! Turn that television, radio and internet smear machine off. Let real media analysis do the work for you. I am not a fact-checker, journalist or media analysis. I am expressing an honest opinion about whats going on in my community, the government and the corrupt mainstream media. And as always, if present any errors in the making of this video, please don't hesitate to send a message and I will correct the record on the next video. For all the critics watching worldwide! Do me a favor by: "Proving Me Wrong"!
